Papal Intentions For October

As the month of October begins and things settle down after Pope Francis’s visit to the U.S., let us remember the Holy Father’s intentions in our prayers.

His universal intention is that “human trafficking, the modern form of slavery, may be eradicated.”

Pope Francis also asks us to pray that, “with a missionary spirit the Christian communities of Asia may announce the Gospel to those who are still awaiting it.”

So let us join Pope Francis this month, in praying for an end to human trafficking and the mission in Asia. Let us also pray for him and all involved in this year’s Synod on the Family, which began yesterday.

As the month of September begins, let us remember Pope Francis’s intentions in our prayers.

His universal intention is for the young, that “opportunities for education and employment may increase for all young people.”

The Holy Father also asks us to pray for catechists, that they “may give witness by living in a way consistent with the faith they proclaim.”

So let us join Pope Francis this month, in praying for opportunities for the young and for all catechists.

Papal Intentions For August

As the month of August begins, let us remember Pope Francis’s intentions in our prayers.

His universal intention is for volunteers, that they “may give themselves generously to the service of the needy.”

The Holy Father also asks us to pray for “outreach to the marginalized,” that, “setting aside our very selves we may learn to be neighbors to those who find themselves on the margins of human life and society.”

So let us join Pope Francis in praying for all volunteers, and that we might begin to volunteer our very selves in generosity to those in need.

Papal Intentions For July

As we prepare for the month of July, let us remember Pope Francis’s intentions in our prayers.

His universal intention is that “political responsibility may be lived at all levels as a high form of charity.”

The Holy Father also asks us to pray that, “amid social inequalities, Latin American Christians may bear witness to love for the poor and contribute to a more fraternal society.”

So let us join Pope Francis in praying for political responsibility and Latin American Christians this month.

Papal Intentions For June

As the month of June begins, let us remember Pope Francis’s intentions in our prayers.

His universal intention for the month is for immigrants and refugees, that they “may find welcome and respect in the countries to which they come.”

The Holy Father also asks us to pray for vocations, or more specifically, “that the personal encounter with Jesus may arouse in many young people the desire to offer their own lives in priesthood or consecrated life.”

So let us join Pope Francis in praying for immigrants, refugees, and vocations this month.
