The current
interim exhibit, “Be Not Afraid: The Life and Legacy of John Paul II” will be undergoing renovation from September 7 to September 30, 2013.
During that time, the temporary exhibit “Habemus Papam: Journey from Conclave to Pope” will remain open for visitors
Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
The newly renovated
“Be Not Afraid” exhibit will open on September 30, 2013, which coincides with
the Papal consistory called to formally approve and announce the dates of canonization for Blessed John Paul II and Blessed John
XXIII.
Although the
“Be Not Afraid” exhibit will be undergoing renovation, it will continue to
serve as an interim exhibit on the life and legacy of Pope John Paul II, as the
Blessed John Paul II Shrine prepares a greatly expanded exhibit to open
in the spring of 2014. This new permanent exhibit will focus on the life,
teachings, and spirituality of Blessed John Paul II
and will include state of the art audio-visual experiences, computer
interactives, museum quality artifacts, and original devotional art.
